As you can see, there are quite a few changes to our weekly programme this year which has been designed by the coaches to support the following aims:
- Accelerate junior development and progression by setting out a clear pathway into Adult hockey
- Establish a common playing style and language across the club
- Embed basic skills and hockey fundamentals and attitude
- Improve fitness, speed and agility
- Embed a strong EHC team culture
The new programme launches on Monday 15th August.
We are particularly focussed on junior development and plan to increase the number of sessions open to players aged 11 and over. From 16th August, Junior Development sessions will take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, for both boys and girls in school years 7-10 at the same time. Coaches will structure sessions according to ability (rather than gender). Alongside these sessions, we will also be running a new EHC+ Academy so that the highest performing boys and girls get additional challenge and focus. Groups will be fluid with movement between based on performance and ability. Coaches will offer clear feedback.
We are also opening both the pre-season Strength & Conditioning and the Hockey-fit cardio sessions to all players 13 and over.
In addition to this, EHC+ Academy will be offering 121, small group sessions and more camps throughout the year, (in addition to the junior membership) available to all players looking to boost their development or work on specific skills. For more details, contact Pat Skinner.
We will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
